Messy Sunday Storm Brings Snow, Ice, Wind To Massachusetts

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A messy mix of snow and rain has been creating dangerous conditions on the roads across Massachusetts.

The conditions started to transition away from snow to sleet on Sunday morning. The National Weather Service forecasts that freezing rain will continue to come down throughout the afternoon before changing to plain rain into the evening.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Areas north and west of 128 are under a Winter Storm Warning. Officials warned of potentially slick conditions on the road, with bridges and overpasses especially hazardous.

The National Weather Service also warned that ice forming on power lines and tree branches could cause power outages.
