Princess Sofia of Sweden was reportedly once invited to Jeffrey Epstein's now-infamous private Caribbean island and met with the late convicted pedophile several times, according to newly released emails.

Sofia, 41, a former lingerie model and reality television actress prior to marrying Prince Carl Philip in 2015, initially met Epstein through a mentor, Barbo Ehnbom, a Swedish businesswoman, in 2005, according to the emails, which were published by the Swedish outlet Dagens Nyheter on Tuesday (December 9).

“This is Sofia, an aspiring actress who just arrived in New York. She’s the girl I told you about before I left, who I thought you might like to meet,” Ehnbom reportedly wrote to Epstein prior to their first meeting.

“Maybe we can visit before you go on holiday?” she added in the email, which included a photo of the then-model, who went by her full name, Sofia Balthazar-Winslow at the time.

“I’m in the Caribbean. Does she want to come for a couple of days? I’ll send a ticket,” Epstein replied, inviting Sofia to the now-infamous Little Saint James island in which he's accused of sex trafficking minors.

Sofia declined the offer, according to the Swedish royal family, but had met with Epstein on multiple occasions after the initial email.

“[She] has been introduced to the person in question on a few occasions around 2005,” the The Swedish Royal Court confirmed to Dagens Nyheter on Thursday. “The princess has not had any contact with the person in question for 20 years.”

The Swedish royal family didn't disclose where or why Sofia met with Epstein, who was convicted on child sex charges about three years after the email exchange. Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles of the United Kingdom, had already been stripped of his title and forced to move out of his Royal Lodge home on October 30 following years of backlash over his past relationship with Epstein and being named in a lawsuit by an abuse survivor.

Andrew had previously announced that he would immediately stop using titles and honors, including the Duke of York, in a statement released on October 17. Andrew initially stepped back from his public duties in 2019 and later royal patronages in January 2022 after his lawyers failed to have a lawsuit by late Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre accusing him of sexual abuse dismissed.

Andrew later paid Giuffre, who claimed the alleged sexual abuse took place when she was 17 and later died by suicide at the age of 41, a substantial sum, but has repeatedly denied the allegation publicly.
