Dan Patrick wants to make sure his thoughts on Jayson Tatum aren’t getting twisted when he says Tatum isn’t a star. He has no doubt that Tatum is a truly great player. Heck, Dan wouldn’t be surprised if Tatum ended up a first-ballot Hall of Fame player, but he just lacks that “tune-in” factor that would make him a true superstar.
Dan Patrick: “I think he’s a great player. I don’t think he’s a star and there’s a difference in that. You can be a great player, but do you have tune-in factor? That’s what I’m talking about. I think people got it twisted that I was highly critical of him. I think great players in big moments act great. Those first two games, he didn’t act great.”
