BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A powerful blizzard brought heavy snow and damaging winds on Monday. Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey declared a state of emergency on Sunday, and issued a travel ban Monday afternoon for the South Coast and parts of the South Shore. A Blizzard Warning is in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Hundreds of thousands of power outages have been reported across the state amid damaging winds, with the strongest gusts on Nantucket at 83 mph and in Wellfleet at 77 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
