BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The northern lights could make another appearance in Massachusetts on Wednesday night.

NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center issued a G2 (moderate) Geomagnetic Storm Watch on Monday as experts predict it has the potential to reach G3 (severe) level.

But any solar flares above the moderate level are enough to make the aurora borealis visible in night skies.

Some parts of northern New England, like Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire, are at the best viewing line. The Merrimack Valley and Central Mass. also have a possibility of seeing the lights.

The best time to look up is between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., if the forecasted clouds don't ruin the fun.

The last time the northern lights appeared in Massachusetts was back in January.
