BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at all New England airports, including Boston Logan Airport, began receiving some back pay after weeks of working without pay.

In a statement to WBZ NewsRadio, Mike Gayzagian, President of the local AFGE 2617 New England TSA Officers Union, said the last two missed paychecks have been issued.

He added that there was a problem with the third pay period, but it should be resolved on Tuesday.

The relief comes after the U.S. Senate voted Friday to partially fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) while President Donald Trump signed an executive order on the same day to have the department immediately begin distributing back pay to TSA agents.

Meanwhile, the partial government shutdown has become the longest in U.S. history as Capitol Hill lawmakers continue to disagree on passing a DHS funding bill.

During the shutdown, Gayzagian said a total of 29 Logan TSA agents have resigned.
