LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Stop The Violence: LYNN invited the community to march and rally together in the wake of several shooting deaths.
Activists, community members and residents trying to cope with their loss from the city’s recent gun violence joined together at the March to End Gun Violence on Saturday morning.
On Sept. 2, seven people were shot and two were killed at a graduation party on Essex St. Less than 24 hours later in a separate, unrelated incident, a man was shot and killed inside a car on Lincoln St.
With no arrests made almost a month after the graduation party shooting, concerned citizens said enough is enough.
The March to End Gun Violence began at the Lynn English High School and ended at the Keep Moving Forward Festival at Fredrick Douglas Park. The festival was sponsored by Stop The Violence: LYNN, Lynn Youth Street Outreach Advocacy and Lynn Mothers Against Violence.
