BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Free shuttle buses will replace service on the MBTA Orange Line between Forest Hills and Back Bay from Saturday to March 8.

According to the MBTA, work needs to be done on the line to upgrade signals and modernize the system between the stations. Commuter Rail service will also be fare-free between Forest Hills and South Station.

While some commuters despise the shuttle buses, others say they are okay with them.

"Whenever the shuttles are up, they actually run faster than the trains," one commuter said.

The T says trips could take a bit longer and suggest riders factor that into their commute. Some riders are also concerned about the residual impacts of this week's blizzard.

"It's been chaotic, especially with all the snow on the side of the road. Just traveling is difficult right now for everyone. You get one car parked on the side, it's just gonna back everybody up," one commuter said.
