BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — When it came to launching the Boston-based cocktail mix company Simple Sips, founder Elaina Repucci can only marvel at the timing.

Repucci, a Framingham State University graduate from Medford, launched Simple Sips in May 2019, a year before the COVID-19 pandemic caused the take-home alcoholic drink business to explode.

"I got a little nervous when bars and restaurants were putting out their own bottles of fresh cocktails, but knowing how difficult it is to keep them good quality for a long period of time, I was hopeful they wouldn’t go into mass production," Repucci told WBZ NewsRadio Wednesday.

Simple Sips survived the saturated market and now boast a variety of drink mixes with puntastic names like "Pear Pressure," "Lei'd Back," and "Figgin' Delish."

"We are fresh refrigerated products, so we use fresh purees, fresh juices, and then we make all of our herbal syrups in-house," Repucci said.

While most of Simple Sips' business has been with bars and restaurants, the cocktail mixes could soon be coming to a store near you thanks to a new business partnership with Horizon Beverage Group, a Norton-based alcohol wholesaler.

"Any grocery store that works with Horizon has full access to our product, which they never have had before," said Repucci.
