Three people were killed and eight others were injured during a shooting that took place at a Brooklyn nightclub early Sunday (August 17) morning, the New York Post reports.

The incident occurred at the Taste Of The City Lounge in the Crown Heights neighborhood just prior to 3:30 a.m. local time, New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed during a news conference. Multiple shooters were reportedly involved, however, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.

The victims killed in the shooting were identified as a 27-year-old man, a 35-year-old man and a man of an unknown age, while the eight people wounded were reported to have been transported to hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Tisch.

“It’s a terrible thing that happened this morning and we’re going to investigate to determine what went down," she added.

The oldest injured victim was reported to be 61. The incident was reported to have stemmed from a dispute at the lounge.

At least 36 shell casings were located by authorities at the scene, while a firearm was found in the vicinity of Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway, though it wasn't confirmed whether the gun was linked to the incident.

“We have the lowest number of shooting incidents and shooting victims seven months into the year we’ve seen on record in the city of New York,” Tisch said. “Something like this is, of course, thank god, an anomaly and it’s a terrible thing that’s happened this morning.”

Taste of the City Lounge, which opened in 2022 and offers American and Caribbean food and hookah, was previously the scene of a shooting in November 2024 that resulted in non-fatal injuries.
