BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Organizers said they are expecting more than 100,000 people at the ‘No Kings’ protest on Boston Common on Saturday.
The rally is part of a larger nationwide movement to protest “corruption, cruelty and chaos” amid ongoing political conflicts within the U.S. and across the world.
More than 3,000 protests are scheduled across the country, including several in Massachusetts.
Saturday’s planned protests will be the third ‘No Kings’ protest to take place, and organizers predict it will be the “biggest yet.”
In Boston, star-studded speakers and performers are set to attend, including the Dropkick Murphys and comedian Jimmy Tingle.
Speakers to take the stage include Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell, Gov. Maura Healey, Sen. Ed Markey and Congresswoman Ayana Pressley.
Additionally, Saturday’s event will also have two art installations “because art is a form of resistance,” the event page said. The event invited chainsaw artist Kat Dressler will do a live ice sculpture carving.
The last ‘No Kings’ protest in Boston was in October, where around 120,000 people attended.
