BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — More than a hundred dogs are looking for a forever home at the MSPCA-Angell spring adoptathon event.
The event, Find Your Best Bud, runs from Friday, April 17 to Sunday, April 19 at participating shelters across Massachusetts.
Partnering up with Berkshire Humane Society, adoption fees will be waived for prospective families looking to bring a fur-friend home.
Jamie Garabedian, project manager in the MSPCA-Angell’s Animal Protection Division, said they are expecting nearly 200 adoptions at the event.
“Spring is a great time to adopt, especially during school vacation week,” she said. “With everyone home, there’s also more time to help the animal settle in and establish a routine.”
She added that animal shelter activity increases significantly ahead of summer, as this event allows them to be ready for the influx of potential intakes.
“We’re optimistic we can connect with a wide range of adopters and kick off what we expect will be another high-volume season on the right foot,” Garabedian said.
