Snow Totals And Power Outages: Measuring Out Monday's Storm

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — With precipitation starting to taper off mid-morning on Monday and clean-up beginning state-wide, it was a tale of two storms between eastern and western Massachusetts.

Eastern Massachusetts was slammed with high winds, with the highest gust reported at 65 MPH at Great Blue Hill. As of 10:30 AM, about 17,500 people in the state were without power, with the worst outages on the North Shore and Cape Ann, in Salem, Essex, Gloucester and Manchester-by-the-Sea.

Snowfall had become mostly rain across the state by mid-morning on Monday, but some areas, mostly in western Mass. had still picked up significant snowfall by that time.

The Service said it was unlikely most parts of the state would be seeing any more snow after Monday morning.
