Josh Norman Explains Why He Ran With the Bulls Amid $75 Million Contract

Washington Redskins v New York Giants
Rich Eisen: “What the hell were you thinking?? What were you doing out there??”
Josh Norman: “Would you rather live and die, or die and never have lived? You can go outside your front door and get in the car and something can happen to you where an accident happens. You can even go out there and be in practice and tear an ACL. I can go out there and run with the bulls and do something exciting that brings out the best in me in my life. If I win at that and become victorious it brings peace and joy to me, and that outweighed the risks.”

Listen to Washington Redskins All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman join The Rich Eisen Show to talk about his wild weekend that saw him run in Pamplona, Spain’s iconic ‘Running of the Bulls’ as Norman put his body on the line to ‘compete’ in this year’s San Fermin Festival.

The offseason stunt was a little peculiar considering Norman signed a five-year, $75 million deal with the Redskins in 2016 to become the NFL’s highest paid cornerback, and really didn’t shy away from telling the world about his excursion, as Norman posted a video on official Instagram account of him literally hurdling a 1,000-pound bull.

In a league where contracts can be voided in the blink of an eye, it’s rare that you would see a player of Norman’s ilk go out of his way to put himself at risk, especially with some of the other bizarre off-field injuries that have occurred to star athletes that have either ended, or greatly reduced their careers.

Check out the audio below as Norman explains why he did it and what his employer in Washington thought about it.
