Teens Rally To End Gun Violence In Roxbury

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Teenagers in Roxbury came together Saturday, along with Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, to advocate for the end of gun violence in their communities with the Youth R.I.S.E. Rally.

The rally was meant to give young people a voice, and spread awareness on preventing gun violence.

Mayor Walsh, who attended the rally, said he was proud of the teenagers there.

“To put something like this together, this isn’t easy. It takes a lot and it takes a lot to get other young people here,” Walsh said. “Our kids in the Boston, they’re tired of the violence.”

Mayor Walsh wants to remove guns permanently from the city.

“If we can actually rid our streets of these guns, or limit the number of guns in the street, then we can focus our attention on a whole bunch of other things.
