Police Investigating Fatal Stabbing In Brookline Park

BROOKLINE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred in Brookline's Amory Park early Tuesday morning.

Massachusetts State Police and Brookline police were called to the scene at 1:38 a.m. responding to reports of an assault with a dangerous weapon.

Officers set up a large crime scene that taped off sections of the park while K-9 units searched the area.

A 20-year-old man was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he later died following "extensive medical treatment," according to the Norfolk district attorney's office.

The victim was identified as Nicolas “Cole” Kern.

The district attorney's office says the investigation is still active, and there have been no arrests as of this time.
