Kyrie Irving Dodges Boston, Reportedly Eyes Brooklyn

Los Angeles Lakers v Boston Celtics

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Kyrie Irving didn't say much about his future after the Celtics were eliminated by the Bucks in the second-round of the playoffs.

Now, less than two weeks from free agency, the All-Star isn't saying much at all.

According to the Boston Globe, and amidst rumors Irving is looking to sign closer to his home state of New Jersey with the Brooklyn Nets, the mercurial point guard has reportedly shut down talkswith Boston's management team. "The people within the organization I have spoken with have made it clear that they have had little, if any, communication with Irving in recent weeks," writes Adam Himmelsbach of the Globe.

"There has mostly been radio silence from Irving’s camp, and that could be partly because his camp has undergone a makeover," Himmelsbach continues. "Irving last week fired his longtime agent, Jeff Wechsler, and reportedly intends to sign with Roc Nation Sports. The Athletic reported Monday that Irving and the Celtics could meet sometime before the draft. Obviously the Celtics would like to have some idea about his plans before deciding how to use their picks."

Irving is just one of many dominoes Ainge is dealing with, and one he's probably anxious to knock down, one way or the other.
