BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Red Sox wrapped up a disappointing homestand with a six-game split. Now, they'll hit the road for five in New York and Tampa.

Action starts with a two-game set in the Bronx tonight between a pair of underachieving teams—the 6-11 Sox and 6-9 Yankees.

That's a far cry from when both won at least 100 games last year, but at least the Bombers have an excuse. They're remarkably injured.

Giancarlo Stanton, Didi Gregorious, Gary Sanchez, Miguel Andujar, Dellin Betances, Aaron Hicks, and Luis Severino will all miss the series.

Sox skipper Alex Cora's not worried about that, though. He's just hoping to get his offense on track.

"We haven't been able to put good at-bats together in certain games," he said. "Today was a perfect example. We'll find it, we keep working at it, but I think it's just that—not everybody's clicking at the same time."

Season-low four hits against the Orioles.

First pitch, 6:35 p.m., with struggling lefties Chris Sale and James Paxton on the mound.

Sale's winless in his last seven regular season starts since mid-August, but he has a 1.61 ERA in 17 career appearances versus the Yanks.
