Social Media Turns Bill Belichick's Angry Phone Toss Into Hilarious Meme

It's been a frustrating year for Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.

The team experienced uncharacteristic struggles during its first season in the post-Tom Brady era, having missing the playoffs for the first time since 2008 and currently face a three-game losing streak heading into its final regular season game against the New York Jets on Sunday (January 3.)

On Monday night, the Patriots lost 38-9 to the new AFC East-champion Buffalo Bills, dropping to 6-9 overall. During the nationally televised game, Belichick was shown yelling into a sideline phone before angrily throwing it down and walking back to the sidelines amid his team's struggles.

Numerous Twitter users quote-tweeted the video of Belichick with humorous captions.

Twitter user @Samantha_Lait quote-tweeted the video with the caption "*Brady declines call.*"

Twitter user @Katie_Falls shared the video with, "When you're fed up with saying 'speak to a representative' for the 100th time."

Twitter user @dontfeelreel responded to SportsCenter's tweet of the video with a photo of Brady wearing a headset and sitting at a cubicle with the caption, "No, Bill. I told you it's over."

New England will finish the season with a sub-.500 record for the first time since 2000, which was Brady's rookie year and proceeded the franchise's six Super Bowl championship titles, all of which were won during Belichick's tenure.
