BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The scarcity of personal protective equipment during the coronavirus pandemic will likely cause costs at the dentist to rise.
New fees are expected at many provider’s offices to offset the cost of PPE, such as face masks, face shields, and gowns.

WBZ-TV reports the fees are estimated to be anywhere from $20 to $40 as dentists add on protective layers to safely treat patients.
Other changes are also coming to dentists’ offices. Patients may have to wait in the car until they get a text from their provider it is time to come inside for their appointment.
