WORCESTER (WBZ-AM) -- Guertin's Graphics in Kelley Square wanted to keep the momentum going after the announcement that the Pawtucket Red Sox will be moving to Worcester--so they came up with a design and started printing unofficial Worcester WooSox shirts and hats.

John Guertin, president of the company, told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Kim Tunnicliffe the spirit in the city is very high.

"Everybody's excited about getting a professional team, an AAA team, plus they're excited about getting a stadium," Guertin said. "We decided just to do a few shirts, and it took off. The response was so great, we just kept printing and printing ... So much talk with all the neighbors here, all the different local businesses. You've seen and heard the world "WooSox." I have some of the best graphic artists working for us--guys that are designing logos and putting things together. I said, let's print some and see what happens, and that's how it all started."

Guertin said he hopes to add longsleeve shirts and sweatshirts to the store's WooSox merch. The shop sold out of the WooSox shirts and hats on Monday, but got a new shipment Tuesday--$15 each, cash only.
