Homeless Man Shot With BB Gun In Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE (WBZ-AM) -- Police are investigating after a homeless person was shot with a BB gun near Central Square.

Officers responded around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday to reports of an injured man near the Pearl Street bus stop. They found a 36-year-old homeless man who said he was sleeping when a man wearing all black shot him multiple times with a "CO2 or BB-type pistol" in the arm and stomach. The man fled down Pearl Street toward the Charles River, but police weren't able to find him. They did recover BBs near the scene.

The man's injuries weren't considered life-threatening. He was taken to a local hospital.
